H ampton-Gentry Funeral Home had its beginnings when Sebastian Hiss, a funeral director, began his trade in 1874. He started his business at the Hiss Building at Center and Main Streets in downtown Plainfield, IN. William Hiss, his son, continued the tradition from 1893-1905 at the same location.
