James C. Thomas, 79, of Avon, passed away April 21, 2012. He was born June 19, 1932 to the late William and Sallie Thomas in Mars Hill, NC. He was a car salesman for Collins Oldsmobile for 30 years retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Avon United Methodist Church, 6850 E. US 36 in Avon, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 26, 2012. Visitation will also be at the church on Thursday April 26 from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm. Burial, Westridge Park Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Connie E. (Matarazzo) Thomas; daughter, Cathy (Dave) Bryant; three sons, Kevin (Helen), Chris, and Terry Thomas; brother, William "Junior" Thomas; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Contributions may be made to the Avon United Methodist Church Building Fund.
