Barbara J. Black

Barbara J. Black, 85, of Greencastle, IN passed away May 7, 2019. She was born April 13, 1934 in Dearborn, MI to the late Charles and Marguerite Boyd. Barbara received her Bachelor and Master's Degrees in Education from Butler University. She retired from teaching after 29 years from Pleasant Run Elementary School in Warren Township. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Gene V. Black and a half brother, Charles Boyd Jr. Her memberships include Delta Gamma Chapter of Tri Kappa Sorority. Survivors include a daughter, Brenda C. (James) Whicker; son, Preston W. (Brenda) Black; sister, "Sister" Mary Dewitz; half sister, Sylvia Kohler; grandchildren, Sarah Black, Dr. Carla Black, Burton Weed, Andrew Whicker and Suzanne Hart. Funeral services will be private with burial in Clayton Cemetery.
