Victor V. Tryon, 87, of Plainfield, IN passed away March 5, 2008. He was born February 6, 1921 to the late Dave and Alphie (Gibbs) Tryon in Rosedale, IN. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Coast Guard and the Merchant Marines. He retired as a conductor from Conrail in 1980 after working there for over 35 years. He was a member of the masonic lodge. Victor is survived by two step-sons, Clifford and Robert Banta; a step-daughter, Melinda Guthrie; 6 step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his two wives, Eva S. (Phillips) Tryon, who passed away June 7, 1997, and Linda L. (Meier) Tryon, who passed away February 27, 2008. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 6 sisters. Graveside chapel services will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Terre Haute, IN at 11:00 am Tuesday March 11, 2008. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Monday March 10, 2008 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, IN.
