Ernestine E. Shore

Ernestine E. Shore, 88, of Plainfield, passed away August 19, 2015. She was born April 27, 1927 in Sullivan, IN to the late Ward and Viola Schaffer. She was a graduate of Purdue University. Ernestine retired from teaching in 1983 after 29 years with the Indianapolis Public School System. She was a former judge in the clothing and food competition at the Indiana State Fair. Ernestine also volunteered at Eiteljorg Museum and was a member of Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority and Plainfield United Methodist Church, where funeral services will be Monday, August 24, at 10:30 am. Visitation will be Sunday, August 23, from 2:00 - 6:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home. Additional calling will be on Monday one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Quentin Shore; sons, John E. (Cheryl) and Christopher C. (Linda) Shore; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church organ fund.
