George S. Elliott

George S. Elliott, 79, of Danville, passed away January 25, 2017. He was born on April 11, 1937 in Chicago, IL to the late Henry and Mae (Burrough) Elliott. George graduated from Purdue University and received his Master's from Butler University. While attending Purdue, George was a member of the men's glee club. He was an United States Army veteran. George was a teacher for IPS from 1962 until he retired in 1997. He was a member of the Brownsburg Church of Christ. George enjoyed watching sports. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may call from 11:00 am until time of service. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Martha (Maurer) Elliott; sons, Stephen (Maureen), Greg (Amy) and Tim (Amy Jo) Elliott; sister, Mary Lou Green; 11 grandchildren.
