Anita E. Broyles

Anita Eileen Blanton Broyles, 78, of Plainfield, went to Heaven to be with her husband and our Lord on June 22, 2023.  She was born on June 24, 1944 at home in Plainfield.  She graduated from Plainfield High School in 1962.  She married her high school sweetheart, James Broyles of Avon on May 15, 1964.  They have 2 children: Andy (Jeanine) Broyles and Loretta Broyles; 7 grandchildren: Jamey, Samantha, Jenna, Eric, Danielle (Grandson in law: Justin), Breana and Cierra and 11 great-grandchildren: Trey Michael, Jayvin, Damien, Zaniah, Layla, Kiyrah, Javari, Julius, Jve’, Ali, and Achi.     She was born to the late Robert and Geneva (Wood) Blanton.  She had 7 sisters and 2 brothers: the late Robert Blanton (Caroline), Alice Kathleen Clem (Gary), the late John Paul, Carol Jean Pemberton (John), the late Marcia Lynn Blunk (Gene), Anne Louise Blanton, Bonnie Lee Blanton , the late Patricia Elizabeth Blanton, and Julia Jeanette Arnold (Tony).    Anita worked for Manpower, GM, RDC, and Duke.   She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plainfield for close to 63 years where she made bread to take to visitors and hugged the members on their way in and out on Sundays   She believed you need 10 hugs a day to be happy and raised her kids that way.  She was a seamstress making tablecloths, baptismal robes, baby quilts for newborns, clothes, jackets and winter coats, rolled bandages for missions, crocheted many scarves and many afghans.  She gardened and canned the vegetables her family ate every year.   She loved her husband and family with all of her heart and soul.   She was a blessing to us all.  Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 in the First Baptist Church of Plainfield, 1012 Stafford Road, Plainfield.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 29 also at the church.  Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church.  Arrangements by Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.
