Anthony Lee "Tony" Whittle

Anthony Lee (Tony) Whittle, 58, of Indianapolis, passed away in his home on January 30, 2022 after a year-long battle with cancer.  He was born October 8, 1963 to the late Junior Whittle (Vietnam MIA September 24, 1966)  and Luana (Roby) Alexander in Indianapolis, IN.  He graduated from Cardinal Ritter High School in 1981.  He served in the United States Navy for 10 years, and spent his career in avionics, electronics and engineering.  His work experience spanned over several companies including CBRE, Johnson Controls, Eli Lilly, and Rolls Royce among others.  He was a member of Westlake Church of God where he helped establish their church garden which provided food for those in need.  He was also a member of the Plainfield Masonic Lodge #653.  Tony is survived by his wife of 27 years, Cindy Whittle; his four children, Anthony L. (Lindsey) Whittle Jr., Matthew D.E. Whittle (Cody Sanders), Riley T. Whittle and Kathryn M. Whittle; step-father, Larry (Pat) Alexander; brother, Larry D. (Christy) Alexander; granddaughter, Saige Whittle; nephew, Drew Alexander and niece, Ashley Alexander.  Tony was a devoted husband, proud father, loving son, genuine friend and faithful steward.  A Celebration of Life will be held for Tony at the Westlake Church of God, 6696 Rockville Rd., Indianapolis, 46214 on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 2:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the family to cover medical expenses.  Please send donation to the Westlake Church of God with a memo designation “In Memory of Tony Whittle”.  Arrangements by Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.
