Barbara M. Groover

Barbara McCord Groover, 91, of Plainfield, passed away on October 29, 2018.  She was born in Montezuma, IN, on April 27, 1927 to the late Frank and Mary McCord.  Barbara graduated from Rosedale High School and MacMurray College for Women in Jacksonville, IL.  She retired from Plainfield High School in 1994 as the Audio Visual Coordinator.  Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William M. Groover who passed away in 1998.  She was a member of the Plainfield Christian Church and Tri Kappa.  Barbara was a Girl Scout leader when her girls were young.  She also volunteered at the Plainfield Library and Hendricks Regional Hospital.  Barbara was a quilt maker, having made one quilt for each member of her family.  Memorial services will be Monday, November 5, 2018 in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home at 12:00 pm (noon) where friends may call from 10:00 am until time of service.  Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Groover of Bloomington, IN and Pamela Groover of Reynoldsburg, OH; son, David (Susan) Groover of Avon, IN; sister, Eleanor McPike of Rosedale, IN; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Hendricks County Community Foundation (6319 E.
