Belita L. Maple

August 28, 1946 — June 21, 2020

Belita Maple, 73, of Avon, passed away on June 21, 2020.  She was born on August 28, 1946 to the late Emil Julian and Bernice Smith.  Belita was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church.  She created and ran an Aerial Photography company from 1976 - 2005.  Belita's husband, John took the pictures in his plane and she ran the business.  Her hobbies were boating, collecting Longaberger baskets, and Disney memorabilia.  Belita was able to balance raising three children, running a business, taking the kids to sports, horse shows and managed to collect memorabilia.  Her favorite place to eat was the Bubble Room on Captiva Island.   Belita was preceded in death by her husband, John Maple; a brother, David Smith; sisters, Sharon Soladine & Jackie Fish.  Visitation will be Thursday, June 25, 2020 in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.  The family requests that you bring and wear a mask and practice social distancing.  During this period of social distancing, seating will be limited.  We therefore ask that only relatives and close members to the family plan to attend the funeral.  Funeral services will be Friday, June 26, at 10:00 am in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.  Survivors include her son, Jaimie (Jill) Maple; daughters, Dara (Barry) Newton and Nikki (Damon) Jarvis; brother, Dale Smith; sister, Tana Moore; 10 grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent to The Gathering Together (147 N. Center Street Plainfield, IN 46168).
