Carol B. Kersey, 89, of Plainfield, peacefully passed away on July 20, 2025. She was born on January 6, 1936 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Frank Pruitt and Mary (Vanasdal) Pruitt. Carol worked as a librarian for I.P.S. for many years. Carol was a member of Plainfield United Methodist Church. She enjoyed shopping, knitting, sewing, and playing the card game Rummy. Carol also loved going on family trips to Florida, watching her grandchildren's soccer games, going to bible study, being a church greeter, but most of all, was an avid Pacers fan. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth Kersey. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 p.m., Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of services. Entombment will follow to Crown Hill Cemetery. Survivors include her sons, Robert Kersey and William Kersey; daughters, Kathryn (Christopher) Bramlage and Karen Rhoades; brothers, Joseph and William Cambron; grandchildren, Holly Kersey, Emma Kersey, Cecily Kersey, CJ (Kevin Sigl) Rhoades, Chance Rhoades, TJ Rhoades, Dusty Rhoades, Casey Rhoades, Matthew McCoy, Cody McCoy, Arsen (Billy Day) Ablaev, Gamble Kersey-Horwat (Mike Horwat); great grandchildren, Sasha Ablaev, Georgia Ablaev, Terry Rhoades and Jackson Rhoades.
