Carol Woods

Nov 18, 1942 — Nov 3, 2026

Plainfield

Carol Janet (Matson) Woods, 83, of Mooresville, Indiana, died November 3, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born November 18, 1942, in Albion, Michigan, one of five children of Ruby and Kenneth Matson. On September 2, 1968, she married Keith Woods, and they shared 54 years of marriage before his death in May 2023.

A lifelong Catholic, Carol was a member of Saint Susanna Catholic Church in Plainfield for 45 years. Her faith was at the center of her life, and she treasured the friendships she made at the parish.

Her greatest joy was her family. She loved her daughters dearly and delighted in her grandchildren. She rarely missed a chance to show up for them, especially at their school activities. Grandparents Day was a highlight of her year. She was a sucker for a grandchild and a book fair.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy Clark and Janet (Ismael) Abdoulaye; her grandchildren, Ryan Clark, Erin Clark and Adam Abdoulaye; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Keith; and her siblings Bonnie Nugent, Marie Worden, Gary Matson, and Bruce Matson.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 16, 2026, at Saint Susanna Catholic Church, 1210 E Main Street, Plainfield.
