Carolyn Lee Parsons Blanton, 79, of Milton, formerly of Plainfield, was born on March 26, 1940, to Ralph and Minniebee Walls Parsons, in Hendricks County, Indiana. She died peacefully in her home on December 24, 2019. She graduated from Plainfield High School in 1958 and Butler University where she received her undergraduate degree in 1961, and her Masters’ Degree from Indiana University. She was a member of the Avon United Methodist Church. She was employed at Fulton Junior High School where she taught typing/keyboarding for 36 years before her retirement as chair of the Business Department in 1996. On December 17, 1960, she married Robert Blanton. They owned and operated a horse and cattle farm in Plainfield. In 1997, after her retirement from teaching, Carolyn and Bob, along with their adopted son, Kevin Wise, purchased a farm in Posey Twp., Fayette County, Connersville, IN. There they restarted the cattle herd and continue to farm today. Carolyn enjoyed meeting all the farm families in Bentonville and learning the Bentonville farm community history from special friends Mary McClure and Bertha Maurer. Carolyn is survived by her son, Kevin, his wife, Shirley, their two children, James (Stacy) Blanton and Angela (Darren) Fuller, grandchildren Mackenzie (John) Struewing, Rylee Fuller, Brittany Kayonnie and Donovan Westover and two great-grandchildren, Josiah and Elijah Kayonnie. She is also survived by brother-in-law John Blanton, sisters-in-law Anne, Bonnie and Patty Blanton, Anita Broyles, Jeanne (John) Pemberton and Kathleen (Gary) Clem and Julia (Tony) Arnold. Also surviving are Carolyn’s four first cousins: Ron (Ruth) Parsons, Leland Parsons, Dan (Eileen) Parsons and Keith (Susan) Parsons. She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph & Minniebee Parsons, her husband, Robert, sister and brother-in-law, Marcia and Gene Blunk, and brother-in-law James Broyles. Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with services at 1:00 pm at Hampton Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, IN.
