Carolyn Prose

December 22, 1946 — June 27, 2022

Carolyn Ann Prose, 75, of Plainfield, passed away on June 27, 2022.  She was born on December 22,1946 in Crawfordsville, Indiana at Culver Hospital to Donald and Mary Hiatt. Carolyn graduated from Pike High School and went on to attend college at Butler, Indiana State and the University of Indianapolis (Indiana Central), were she obtained a Master's in Education.  She married Wilbur E. Prose Jr. on December 19, 1967 and that’s when the party started. Carolyn taught at Mooresville School Corporation and after a short stint raising two kids, she then taught at Central Catholic on the southeast side of Indianapolis, where she retired.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur E. Prose Jr.  Carolyn was survived by her children, Tom (Robin) and Annie Prose; sister, Sue (Steve) Pearl; grandchildren, Dakota, Glenn, Gage and Makenna; nieces, Beth and Megan (Scott); nephews, Ryan (Jessica) and Brandon.  Carolyn adored all of her grandchildren.  She enjoyed playing euchre and spending time with her friends.  Carolyn also enjoyed traveling to Tennessee and to South Carolina.  She also enjoyed a good show at Beef and Boards. Carolyn attended St. Susanna Catholic Church for many many years.  We know we missed some stuff but hey trying to write our Mother’s life in a day just couldn’t be done.  Funeral services will be Friday, July 1, 2022 at 12:00 pm (noon) in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 pm.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Darlington, IN.  The family asks in lieu of flowers that a donation be made online to the Indiana Donor Network or just try to make someone’s day.  Well that’s all folks….
