Cathy Sue Swinford

Cathy Sue (Smith) Swinford, 68, of Plainfield, passed away May 26, 2019 in the presence of her family and friends that she loved dearly after a long hard fight with cancer.  She was a 1969 graduate of Plainfield High School.  She was a member of Plainfield Christian Church.  Cathy worked several years for CED in Martinsville and Indianapolis, and also Anixter in Indianapolis and Epson Inc., in Plainfield.  She was born November 8, 1950 in Linton, IN.  Survivors include her daughters, Mari (Beau) Berge, and Mandy (Bob Cook) Swinford; her mother Eugenia Jane (McIntyre) Smith; a brother, David (Kim) Smith; 2 grandchildren, Sara and Kara Berge; and her 3 nephews, Dawson, Evan, and Braden Smith.  She was preceded in death by her father Robert "Red" Smith and her longtime partner Russell Kiger.  There will be a Celebration of Life gathering for Cathy at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Foundation, (Community Cancer Center North), email: [email protected];  web: www.ecommunity.com/community-foundation.  Arrangements by Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.
