Charlene Waggoner

Charlene Waggoner, 90, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025 surrounded by loving family members.  She was born on March 18, 1935 in Oblong, IL to the late Millard "Mike" and Dorothy Davis.  Charlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a dedicated homemaker.  She enjoyed line dancing, country music festivals, crafts, shopping and staying up late watching TV in her free time.  Charlene loved spending time with her family.  She belonged to the First Baptist Church in Plainfield.  Charlene was preceded in death by siblings, Donald Davis, Velma Simpson, Marlene Corley, Betty Stout and Jerry Davis.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 12:00 pm (noon) in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm.  Burial will follow in Waggoner Cemetery, Chauncey, IL.  Survivors include her loving husband of 72 years, whom she married on March 18, 1953, Eugene "Gene" Waggoner; son, Michael Waggoner; daughter, Peggy (Todd) Songer; sister, Barbara Nidey; brother, Gary Davis; grandchildren, Cody Dart, Allison Dart, David Waggoner and Hannah (Jackson) Deal; daughter in law, Dina Waggoner; 2 great grandchildren with one on the way!; Jenson Deal, Jonah Deal and Jordin Eulene Deal.
