Charles T. Brown, 93, of Plainfield, passed away on April 27, 2025.  He was born on April 8, 1932 in Somerset, KY to the late Thomas and Edna Brown.  Charlie was a United States Army veteran.  He was the General Superintendent at Allison Transmission for 42 years before retiring.  Charlie attended the Mt. Gilead Church in Mooresville.  He enjoyed watching NASCAR, traveling to Colorado to visit his sister and Branson, MO for vacation.  Charlie loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Thelma "June" Brown and a brother, James Brown.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm.  Burial will follow in Bethesda Cemetery.  Survivors include his sons, Jeff (Anita) and Brian Brown; brother, Bob Brown; sister, Shirley Sells; grandchildren, Josh Brown, Caleb (Heather) Brown, Rachel (Brandon) Jones, Jade (Derek) Robinson and Elaina (Josh) Warren; 10 great grandchildren; special friend, Evelyn Martin.
