Charles Koontz

Charles Koontz, 89, of Camby, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2023. He was born in Indianapolis on November 8, 1933 to the late Roy and Edna Koontz. Charles was a proud United States Air Force veteran. He retired in 1994 after 30 plus years as a wood wire and metal worker. Charles enjoyed fishing, puzzles, playing cards and going to the casino in his free time. His most recent adventure was going to the 2022 Honors Flight #36 in Washington D.C. Charles liked organizing family reunion's and his Ben Davis class reunion's. He occasionally enjoyed a cold beer and a Christmas bourbon. Charles loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by brothers, Roy and Jack Koontz; sisters, Mary Ellan Ebert, Barbara Strain and Joyce Carson. Graveside services will be Monday, May 1, 2023 at 2:30 pm in West Ridge Park Cemetery. Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Lou Koontz; children, Mark (Jeanie) Koontz, Amy (Charlie) Biggers, Troy (Donna) Unland, Terri (Mike) Mossbrucker and Tonda (Scott) Mucho; brother, James Koontz; sister, Doris Beckwith; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
