Cynthia "Cindy" Mongan, 61, of Greenwood, passed away surrounded by loving family members. She was born on March 10, 1962 in Beech Grove to the late Robert and Barbara Shipley. Cindy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a dedicated homemaker. She was a member of the Indianapolis Baptist Temple. Cindy enjoyed painting, drawing, reading and singing in her free time. Her favorite time of year is the fall time. She liked watching TV Land and Hallmark movies. Cindy enjoyed listening to Carly Simon and Karen Carpenter. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Cindy battled through all and all, with a long time quote that ran deep within the family. It originally came from her Uncle Paul that was a Colonel Chaplin in the Army, many years ago. It kept her positive and uplifted until her last dying breath. "K.O.K.O." (keep on keeping on). That is what she would want us all to do in her remembrance. Cindy was preceded in death by a daughter, Sara Despot and a grandchild, Carson Despot. Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 1:00 pm in the Indianapolis Baptist Temple (4002 E. Southport Road, Indianapolis, IN 46237) where friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Greenwood Cemetery. Survivors include her loving husband, Kevin Mongan; son, Jacob (Amber) Despot; daughter, Abigail Mongan; sisters, Collette (Paul) Chatterton and Beth (Myron) Davis; grandchildren, Krista, Elli and Whitley Despot; great grandchild, Rayvin Despot.
