Donald "Buzz" Keltner II

August 20, 1962 — January 11, 2018

Buzz Keltner, 55, Plainfield, passed away on January 11, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born Donald Neal Keltner II on August 20, 1962 in Indianapolis to Donald N. and Nelda J. Keltner.  Buzz graduated from Purdue University with a BA in Agriculture in 1985 and was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, Purdue Alumni Association and John Purdue Club.  He married Lisa Diane Millet on April 7, 1990.  She was the love of his life and his dearest friend.  They avidly followed Purdue sports and did not miss a Purdue football game, either home or away for 20 years. He loved tailgating at the Purdue and Colts games and met life-long friends through the years.  He began working at U.S. Smokeless Tobacco in college and worked there for 27+ years.  After the company sold, he and Lisa opened Buzz’s Pizza and had a loyal following until they sold it in 2014.  Buzz was a licensed auctioneer and enjoyed working sales and charity functions.  He was a member of Plainfield Eagles 3207, Plainfield Elks 2186, Plainfield Masonic Lodge 653, Valley of Indianapolis Scottish Rite, and Indianapolis Murat Shrine.  In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a brother Brick (Kathy ) Keltner, nephews Matthew and Jacob Keltner, a brother –in-law Kevin (Debbie) Millet, nephew Joe Hill, all of Plainfield, and an uncle, Marc (Pegi) Keltner of San Antonio, Texas.  He was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend and will be missed every day.  The family would like to thank all the healthcare professionals at Hendricks Regional Health for their compassionate care.  A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm in the Parish Center East at St. Susanna Catholic Church, 1210 E. Main Street, Plainfield.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the Plainfield Eagles, 5556 US 40, Plainfield on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at  6:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Buzz’s name to Susie’s Place, 7519 Beechwood Centre Road, #500, Avon, IN 46123 or Hope Haven Canine Rescue, 1136 Westwood Drive, Mooresville, IN 46158.  Hampton-Gentry, Plainfield was entrusted with his arrangements.  Manuel and his family were some of his best customers at Buzz’s Pizza.
