Donna Jean Theamann Becktel, born August 20, 1947, 79 years of age, from Avon, Indiana passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from an ongoing illness. She was the daughter of Charles F Theamann and Margaret E Theamann. Donna was a believer in Christ and a had a strong love for her Christian faith. She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Darryl R Becktel; daughter, Amy N Huntley (Richard Huntley); son, Joshua M Becktel, Sr (Amy K Becktel), daughter-in-law, Jean Becktel; granddaughter, Danielle A Becktel; grandson, Thomas C McMahon (Victoria McMahon); and grandson, Joshua M Becktel, Jr. Also, she was predeceased by her son, David C Becktel; grandson, Eric T McMahon, and sister, Judith A VanDenbark. Donna and Darryl met at Washington High School in Indianapolis where she was a member in orchestra, choir, and an ROTC Captain. They married after high school and grew a life together with their three children in Plainfield. She was a member of Easter Star, and participated as a supportive mother in all of her children’s activities such as 4 -H, Band, Boy and Girl Scouts, Job’s Daughter’s and many sports. Donna was also very active in the school and Methodist Church communities. She was an accountant for Winona Hospital, Neurology Associates, and Communicology of Indianapolis over her career. Donna also thoroughly enjoyed working for Meals on Wheels for Hendricks County. She and Darryl loved traveling, antiquing, and spending time with their grandchildren. Her spirit was always shining when speaking of her grandchildren. She enjoyed decorating for the holidays and having family gatherings. Above all, she loved her Lord, her God with all of her heart. May she walk in his presence for eternity. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at 12:30 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:30 pm. Burial will follow in Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown, IN.
