Dora Jones

Dora A. Jones, 86, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loving family members. She was born on October 3, 1939 in Harlan, KY to the late Albert and Susie Herron. Dora was a dedicated homemaker to her husband and children. She was a member of the Chapel Wood Baptist Church. Dora enjoyed cooking, gardening and bird watching in her free time. She loved spending time with her family. Dora was preceded in death by her loving husband, Calvin Jones; siblings, Albert Herron, Emma June, Mary Herron, Jesse Herron, Janice Herron and Calvin Herron. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of services at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Floral Park Cemetery. Survivors include her children, Terry Jones, Phyllis (Jeff) Lawrence, Tim Jones and Melissa Stevens; siblings, Wanda Faye, Margie Haverly, Linda Toby, Sue Dawson, James Herron, Charles Herron and Eda Komora; grandchildren, Carrie (Marty) Limeberry, Sara (Derek) Frye, Max Jones, Steven Jones, Dylan Jones, Kalie Anderson, Marcus Francis and Briawna Francis; 9 great grandchildren.
