Eddie E. Underwood

Eddie E. Underwood, 101, of Plainfield, passed away on December 13, 2017.  He was born on October 17, 1916 in Kentucky to the late James and Ella (Carile) Underwood Mantooth.  Eddie worked on the assembly line for Allison Transmission retiring after 28 years.  He belonged to the Church By The Side Of The Road.  Eddie enjoyed fishing with his brother Norman and traveling with his wife in there younger years.  Woodworking, walking, gardening and the outdoors were some of his passions.  Eddie was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Mae (Mantooth) Underwood; son, Michael R. Underwood; brothers, Thornton, Walter, Joseph and William Underwood.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home at 1:00 pm where friends may call from 11:00 am until time of service.  Burial will be in Clayton Cemetery.  Survivors include his brother, Norman Underwood; grandsons, Tim (Crystal) and Matthew (Laura) Underwood, Jacob and Joshua (Krista) Weber; great grandchildren, Andrea, Abigail, Allison, Lucas, Magdalyn, Lincoln and Miana Underwood, Elynor Weber; daughter-in-laws, Beth Underwood and Elizabeth Dohogne.
