Elaine S. Martin

Elaine S. Martin, 55, of Cartersburg, passed away on September 28, 2022 surrounded by her brother, Jim Vedder and best friend/sister, Christina Farmiga.  She was born on March 24, 1967 in Danville to the late William and Dorothy Vedder.  Elaine was the co-owner of Martin & Martin Painting Company with her husband since 2002.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael Martin whom she married on May 18, 1990.  Elaine enjoyed the outdoors whether it was riding 4 wheelers, shooting guns or picking wildflowers.  She loved her family, dog Brutus and anything to do with turtles.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm.  Entombment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Survivors include her son, Dillon Martin; sisters, Jan Porter, Kathy (Joe) Meyer and Linda (Larry) Harvell; brothers, Jim Vedder, Tom and (Karla) Vedder, Bob and (Geneieve) Vedder, David and (Kim) Vedder.
