Elsie Adele Rietz-Grobe

Elsie Adele Rietz-Grobe, age 95, of Plainfield, Indiana, formerly of Yarmouthport, MA and Palm Harbor, FL, passed away October 6, 2023.  She was born in Boston, lived her childhood in Dedham, MA where she graduated from Dedham High School, then received a degree in Advertising Design from the Art Institute, Boston.  Adele served as a staff artist in advertising agencies in Boston and Clearwater, FL and retired as Art Supervisor at St. Petersburg Times newspaper of St. Petersburg, FL.  In retirement, she and her late husband, Fred N. Grobe, a professional artist and Art Director at General Electric Co., spent much time painting landscapes and seascapes from their travels and homes in Florida and on their beloved Cape Cod.  In later years, she enjoyed decorative furniture painting.  She is survived by her daughter, Claudia A. Butler and son-in-law Richard Butler of Greencastle, IN, and son, Keith R. Rietz and daughter-in-law, Lynn Rietz of Plainfield, IN.  Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kristin (Joshua) Taylor and Erik (Macey) Rietz; and great-grandchildren, Titus, Asher and Zane Taylor.  At this time no services are planned.  Arrangements by Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, IN.
