Ernestine "Ernie" Cooper

Ernestine L. Cooper, 91, of Stilesville, passed away on November 30, 2019. She was born in Stilesville, IN on July 14, 1928 to the late Glen and Iva Hampton. Ernie worked for the Cooper Hardware Store in Stilesville for 20 years. She was a member of the Hazelwood Christian Church. Anytime someone would walk in the door, Ernie would ask you if you would want something to eat. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Ernie was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gene Cooper; brothers, Claude, Jack, Bob, Roy, Morris and Jim Hampton; sister, Ruth Whitaker. Visitation will be Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the Hazelwood Christian Church (9947 S. CR 0, Hazelwood, IN 46118) from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be Friday, December 6, 2019 in Hazelwood Christian Church at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Stilesville Cemetery. Survivors include her sons, Charles V. (Betty), Courtney G. (Sharon), Jeffrey W. (Joy) and Eric C. (Patricia) Cooper; daughters, Sherry (Arthur) Douville and Vickie (Ralph) Whitaker; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren.
