Ester M. Drury

Ester M. Drury, age 74, of Clayton, peacefully passed away at home on February 1, 2026. She was born on March 29, 1951 in Jacksonville, North Carolina to the late Herman and Gertie Davis. Ester finished Cosmetology school and worked as a hair dresser for many years. She was a former member of the Red Hat Society and Tri-Kappa. Ester was a member of Lakeview Christian Church in Indianapolis. She was an avid quilt maker, it was one of her most enjoyable hobbies. Ester also loved dancing and spending quality time with her children and especially her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a brother, Jasper Davis; sisters, Alma Hobbs, Barbara Shroads and Dean Kratzer. Visitation hours will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Funeral services are Monday, February 9, 2026 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow to Clayton Cemetery. Survivors include her fiancé, Terry Cull; son, Shane (Kelly) Drury; daughters, Wendy (Tim) Haas and Stacy (Gibby) Branthoover; sisters, Doris Marshburn and Eunice Parker; brother, Ed Davis; seven grandchildren, Paige (Kyle), Hannah (Keith), Braxton (Rachel), Aubrey (Adrian), Hunter (Jessica), Bailey and Kinley; seven great grandchildren, Elsie, Bonnie, Bellamie, Bennett, Eliza, Hadley and Reed.
