Frances "Rene" Smith

Frances "Rene" Smith, 81, of Plainfield, passed away on January 26, 2023 surrounded by loving family members.  She was born on May 26, 1941 in Indianapolis to the late Francis and Marie Hechinger.  Rene was a business analyst for Alverno Information Services in Beech Grove retiring in 2002 after 27 years.  She was a member of the Connection Point Christian Church in Brownsburg.  Rene enjoyed camping, sewing, crafts, Bible studies, gospel music and going to Disney World.  She loved spending time with her family as often as she could.  Rene was preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry Smith.  Funeral services will be Sunday, January 29, 2023 at 4:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 2:00 pm until the time of service.  Inurnment will take place at a later date in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Survivors include her daughters, Lisa (Rod) Chandler and Lori Smith; brothers, Fritz (Sandy) and Jerry Hechinger; 2 grandchildren, Madison and Garrett Chandler.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association online or by mail at 225 N.
