Freddie L. Lewis of Nokomis, FL and formerly of Avon, IN passed away on October 21, 2018.  Freddie was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Janet McCammack Lewis and daughter Linda Jo and his parents.  Freddie is survived by  brother Teddy Lewis, daughter Marsha Harrison, son Dale (Lora) Lewis and 7 grandchildren Gregory (Kelsie) Harrison, Amanda (Nicholas) Cox, Olivia Harrison, Sara Harrison, Savanna Harrison, Drew Lewis, Adam Lewis and one great granddaughter Harper Mae Harrison.  After loss of both their long time spouses in 2009, Freddie and Pat Kimel became acquainted and enjoyed each other’s company until his passing. Pat’s family includes daughter Kathy (Alan) Stenman, son Bill (Christine) Kimel, and grandchildren Spencer Stenman, Sydney Stenman and Billy Kimel.  Freddie was born in Putnam County, IN on June 29, 1936 to Elma Knose Lewis and Lunie Harrison Lewis.  He graduated from Eminence H.S. in 1954 and then served in the US Army.  Freddie and Janet lived in Clayton for a while and then relocated to Avon where they lived until he retired from Indiana Bell  in 1991.  Upon retirement Freddie and Janet moved into Kings Gate Club in Nokomis, FL in 1993 where he lived until his death. Freddie was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Legion, Venice, FL Lodge.  Memorial services will be at 7:00 pm on Monday, October 29, 2018 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Monday from 5:00 pm until service time at 7:00 pm.  Inurnment will be held later at Clayton Cemetery.  Contribution may be made to the March of Dimes Foundation.
