Gary L. Southwood

Gary Lee Southwood, 79, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully in his home on November 26, 2017.   He was born on August 21, 1938 in Sullivan County, IN to the late Noah and Grace (Lynch) Southwood.  Gary is a graduate of Shelburn (Indiana) High School.  He retired from Emerson Controls (formerly P.R. Mallory and Co).  Gary belonged to the Mallory Conservation Club.  He is preceded in death by an infant son; sister, Barbara Kilcoin, and an infant brother.  Visitation will be Thursday, November 30, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Plainfield Bible Church (752 Dan Jones Road, Plainfield, IN 46168).  Funeral services will be Friday, December 1, 2017 at 11:00 am with visitation from 10:00 am until time of service at the Plainfield Bible Church.  Burial will be in Clayton Cemetery.  Gary is survived by his wife, Nancy (Lyman); sons Keith (Jamie), Timothy (Victoria), Brian (Natalie), and Joe Southwood (Courtney Frederick); sisters, Marlene Norris of Shelburn, Janice Pugh of Sullivan Ind., Judy Miller of Shelburn, and brother Noah Jay of Shelburn; 8 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to any charity are requested.
