James A. Bell

James A. Bell, 89, of Plainfield, passed away on March 8, 2020. He was born in Indianapolis on June 29, 1930 and raised by Bill and Mildred Drumm. James graduated from Washington High School in 1950. He was an United States Navy veteran. James was a manager for several different Kroger stores and retired after 40 years in 1995. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, watching I.U. basketball and the Indianapolis Colts. James was preceded in death by a daughter, Bethann Grimes and several siblings. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years and high school sweetheart, Bonnie Bell; sons, Rick (Debbie) and James D. Bell; daughters, Sherie (Doug) Howard; sister, Janet Crafton; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.
