James R. Jenkins

James R. Jenkins, 95, of Coatesville, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2023.  He was born on November 23, 1927 in Boxville, KY to the late James M. and Lucy Jenkins.  James was a WWII United States Army veteran.  He retired from National Starch & Chemical after 41 years in 1992.  James enjoyed vegetable gardening and taking care of the chickens and cows on the farm.  He loved spending time with his family and his cat Rufus.  James was preceded in death by his first wife, Joy McCann and second wife, Beverly Jenkins; daughter, Brenda Livingston and 11 siblings.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm.  Burial with military honors will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Survivors include his daughter, Sharon (Ray) O'Neal; sons, Eddie (Cheryl) and James N. (Susan) Steward; numerous grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren.
