James "Jim" D. Ellis

James "Jim" D. Ellis, 61, of Plainfield, passed away April 23, 2019. He was born June 14, 1957 in Indianapolis. He was a 1975 graduate of Plainfield High School and 1979 graduate of Indiana University. Jim was a sales manager with RL Global for over 20 years in Indianapolis. He was a great sports fan of the Colts, Pacers and Indiana University football and basketball teams. Jim had old cassette tapes of him broadcasting Pacer games. He was as good as the professionals. All of his friends told him he missed his calling. Jim was a member of Prestwick Country Club and an avid golfer. A Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, April 30, in the Plainfield Christian Church (800 Dan Jones Road) at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of service. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Thomas E. Ellis. Survivors include his wife, Sheila Ellis; daughter, Ashleigh (Chris) Ferguson; son, Devin Ellis (girlfriend, Katie); mother, Jean Ellis; sisters, Karen Ellis Langefeld and Tonya (Alan) Brown; grandchildren, Cash and Axel Ferguson; his beloved dogs, Banks, Bella and Blaze. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
