James E. Nicely

James E. Nicely, 88, of Plainfield, passed away December 26, 2017.  He was born to the late Harry Sr. and Gertrude Nicely in 1929 in Hendricks County.  He was a veteran of the Indiana Air National Guard.  He worked in material control at Allison's GM Plant for 30 years retiring in 1981.  James is survived by his wife, Naomi J. Nicely; two daughters, Joyce E. (Joe) Unthank and Judy E. Krampe; two brothers, Charles (Marcella) and Donald (Donna) Nicely; a sister, Mary Jane Russell; a sister-in-law, Kathy Nicely; 4 grandchildren, Jason Unthank, Emily (Nick) Basile, Sara (Jon) Sparks, and Lauren (Jeff) Kowalk; and 3 great grandchildren, William and Kate Kowalk and Elinor Basile.  A memorial service will be planned for later.  A private burial was held at New Winchester Cemetery.  Arrangements by Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.
