James W. Phillips

James W. Phillips Sr., 75, of Plainfield, passed away on July 27, 2022. He was born in Martinsville, IN to the late William and Lella Phillips. James was an United States Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War in 1966 and 1967. He was a truck driver and owned his own truck for 12 years. James was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plainfield, Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. He enjoyed taking long drives in his 1999 red Chevy pickup truck. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 11:30 am in the First Baptist Church Of Plainfield (1012 Stafford Road, Plainfield, IN 46168) where friends may visit from 9:30 am until time of service at 11:30 am. Military Honors will follow outside of the church when the service is over. Inurnment will be at a later date in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood. Survivors include his loving wife, Cheryl Phillips; sons, James Phillips Jr. and Robert (Karen) Phillips; daughter, Jennifer Phillips; sister, Suella Hamilton; grandchildren, Noah, Riley, Grace and Robert Phillips; 1 great grandchild.
