Jane H. Barger

November 28, 1958 — May 14, 2020

Jane Helen Barger of Plainfield, IN, formerly of Cincinnati, died on May 14, 2020.  Born Jane Aubruner on November 28,1958 in Hammond, Indiana to loving parents Patricia Ahern Aubruner and William George Aubruner, Jr., Jane was the eldest of three girls including Ann Aubruner Swiontek and Kathy Aubruner Garmon. She grew up in Hammond, Indiana and later attended Purdue University where she met Bruce Barger in 1978 and fell in love. She graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1982 and married the love of her life, Bruce, the following day. They moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, and Jane began her first of many years with Procter & Gamble. Jane  and Bruce had a son, William, in 1987 and just celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on May 9th.  Jane retired in 2009 and spent her time doing the many hobbies she loved including card making, painting, jewelry making, needlework, photography and cooking to name a few. She was an independent consultant for Pampered Chef and Stamping Up during these years and met many like-minded friends through her hobbies. She loved making gifts and sharing her talents.  Jane was heavily involved in Boy Scouts helping her son attain his Eagle Scout award.  She enjoyed being a Girl Scout Leader for several years.  Jane was a deeply spiritual person and was a long-time member of St. John Catholic Church in West Chester, Ohio, and later a member of St. Susanna Catholic Church in Plainfield.  Her love of God and her unconditional love of family were always evident.  Jane is survived by her husband, Bruce; their son, William (Bill); her mother, Patricia Aubruner; sisters, Ann and Kathy; their husbands, Scott and Joe; her niece, Amy; nephew, Matt, and his wife, Jess.   We are certain that joy, laughter, a craft area and some fireworks awaited her with our family and friends in heaven.   We will always carry the memories of Jane in our grateful hearts. The family would like to thank the many healthcare heroes who cared for Jane with love and dignity during her illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Society of St. Vincent de Paul food bank at svdpindy.org.  Services and calling will be private.  Internment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.  Arrangements by Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.  www.hamptongentry.com
