Janet K. Gray

  Janet K. Gray, 81, of Plainfield, passed away December 12, 2020.  She was born November 24, 1939 to the late Mike and Hazel (Kugelman) Alex in Stilesville, IN.  She received her BA at Indiana Central University and her Masters from Butler University.  She was a teacher for 28 years retiring from Doe Creek Middle School in New Palestine in 2001.  Our Mom Janet, taught us to care for others, enjoy life, and to never give up. She cherished and perfected the role of being a Grandma.  Mom had a positive and giving attitude.  Those who were fortunate to know Janet were blessed by her fun and loving spirit. She had a unique ability to communicate difficult truths in a kind, gentle, and helpful way.  Janet was full of wonder and encouraged curiosity in those around her.  Janet is survived by three daughters, Debbie L. (Brian) Becker, Mindy S. (Eric) Fulkerson and Mikki E. (Steve) Dayhuff; 6 grandchildren, Spencer Solomon, Matthew (Michelle) Dayhuff, Darcie Becker, John Becker, Mark (Tracy) Dayhuff and Michael (Ashley) Dayhuff; and 9 great grandchildren.  Services and calling will be private.  Burial will be in Clayton Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library (111 Dollywood Lane, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863) www.imaginationlibrary.com
