Jerald R. "Jerry" Cummings

Jerald R. "Jerry" Cummings, 77, of Plainfield, passed away June 29, 2019.  He was born April 7, 1942 to the late Edward and Helen Cummings in Indianapolis, IN.  He graduated from Plainfield High School, and continued to live most of his life in Plainfileld.   He worked in sales and architectural design and  later became vice president at Acme Refrigeration Co, Indianapolis.  He later worked for Wetterau Foods in Bloomington for 8 years.  And then later he worked at Fedex where he was a transport/loader for 10 years.  He was a devoted member of Gasburg Baptist Church where he loved serving others and his Lord.  Jerry is survived by his wife, Betty Lou (Acton) Cummings; two daughters, Lorie Ann (Shawn Skaggs) Mischler, and Jenny Brown; a brother, Donald Cummings; 4 grandchildren, Jake (Suzanne) Brown, Shannon (Justin) Swann, Seth Brown, and Caleb (Madison) Brown; and 4 great grandchildren.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, July 5, 2019 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 6 at the Gasburg Baptist Church, 11564 N. Gasburg Road in Gasburg.  Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfiled.
