Joan Kathryn Nichols

Joan Kathryn Nichols, 70, of Cartersburg, passed away on October 23, 2017.  She was born in Indianapolis on November 17, 1946 to the late Paul and Mary (Losey) Fischer.  Joan worked for Mallorys Electronic Component, RCA and Hendricks Regional Health as an unit clerk for 33 years.  She enjoyed scrapbooking, bird watching and telling her family what to do so she could keep everyone in line.  Joan loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her brother, David Fischer; sister, Mary Ellen Strainer.  Memorial services will be 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 25, 2017 in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may call from 4:00 pm until time of service.  Graveside services will be Thursday, October 26, at 11:00 am in Coatesville Cemetery.  Survivors include her husband, Jack Nichols; sons, Chris (Jennifer) and Dan (Christi) Nichols; brothers, Tony and Paul Fischer; sister, Rose Marie Richard; 5 grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to the Gathering Together (147 N. Center Street, Plainfield, IN 46168).
