John Norris

John Norris, 71, of Avon, passed away in his home on September 8, 2021.  He was born in Indianapolis on August 19, 1950 to the late Epherian Norris and Norma Basinger.  John worked for Ameritech and retired after 33 years.  After retirement he drove a school bus for the Avon School Corporation for 6 years.  John enjoyed woodworking and golfing in his free time.  He coached the Outkast softball team for several years.  John loved spending time with his family and friends whenever he could.  He was known as grandpa to pretty much everyone in his life.  A Celebration Of Life will be at 4:00 pm Sunday, September 19, 2021 in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.  Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Theresa Norris; daughter, Tina (Andy) Willis; siblings, Scott (Maria) Norris, Teri (Mike) Crouch and Rob Norris; half brother, Michael Basinger; grandchildren, Nikki (Kelsey) Burris and Katie (Skylar) Batchelor.
