John E. Walters

John E. Walters, 86, of Plainfield, passed away Novmeber 24, 2018.  He was born March 30, 1932 to the late Harry Ray and Ethel (Woods) Walters in Paragon, IN.  He was a US Air Force veteran.  He was a member of the Martinsville Masonic Lodge #74; the Murat Temple and the Indianapolis Scottish Rite; and the First Baptist Church of Plainfield.  He worked 30 years as an assembly line worker for General Motors Plant #5 retiring in 1988.  John is survived by his wife, Virginia A. (Krebs) Walters; 5 children; 11 grandchildren;  11 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.    Funeral services will be at 7:00 pm on Friday, November 30, 2018 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Friday from 4:00 pm until service time at 7:00 pm.  A private burial will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
