Indianapolis

Kurt C. Jones, age 66, quickly lost his battle with pancreatic cancer after a shocking diagnosis 8 weeks prior, on June 9, 2026. He was born in Topeka, Kansas on September 24, 1959. Kurt's dad Charles Franklin Jones was in the Air Force and was out of Kurt's life at a early age of just 7. Kurt and his 2 brothers and mom, quickly moved to Speedway, Indiana. His mom grew up in Indiana and had relation living there. Kurt graduated from Northwest High school in 1977. He worked at A.U.L. as a mail room manager for close to 20 years. He then opened his own plumbing business very briefly and ended up working for a small company on 92nd street called Heartwood Enterprises for another 25 years as their lead carpenter and window and door specialist. Kurt was old school, skilled with knowledge that repaired many historical buildings in Indianapolis. Everywhere he would go by he said I put that door in or window ,or if entering a building and door was broke, he would always say "I can fix that”. Kurt and his wife Jenny started out probably 16 years ago plus feeding and saving street cats on the west side of Indianapolis. They opened a cat rescue called Catcityusa, Indianapolis Rescue and Sanctuary. He was jokingly called the “mayor” of Catcityusa. Kurt helped Jenny and the senior dream team volunteers with all aspects of the rescue work from trapping to feeding. He built extensive "catios" for the rescue as well as other cat-loving people. He was a jack of all trades you could say, as he was a master troubleshooter, always fixing issues especially with the 9 rental properties he and his wife owned. He also had a part time job doing odd jobs for folks the last 4 years called “Fix it Jones" helping out a lot of folks with cheaper repair prices… In his spare time, he loved to build model airplanes and tanks with occasional war boats. Kurt had a love for all animals, but he had a special place in his heart for his favorite dogs, Yukon Jack a malamute mix, and Alpine Willy a mountain dog/springer mix who are also in Heaven with him now, as well as many many more loved dogs and cats . He really loved to ride his 2000 red Springer Softail Harley Davidson with his wife, Jenny, as they would take long rides together. He and Jenny would go out to listen to local bands on the weekends often. Kurt preferred the 60’s and 70’s classic rock music, as well as some blues, such as Gene Deer music. Kurt will be missed by all who knew, loved and adored him. He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Jean (Wenrick) Jones. I’m sure they are already in heaven having great long chats. Kurt has his moms’ eyes , blue and pretty. There will be no visitation or services per Kurt's request. Kurt was a private and very humble man. Survivors include his loving wife of 17 years, Jenny (Hamblen-Seneff) Jones, who will be forever lost without him by her side; brothers, Mark and wife (Bobbi) Jones and Mike and wife (Linda) Nicholson. His two sons who live in Missouri now, Chris and wife Carrie Jones and Kyle and wife Melissa Jones Estranged sons Jerry and James as well.
