Larry D. Vest

Larry D. Vest, 75, of Plainfield, passed away on May 3, 2026.  He was born on June 5, 1950 in Xenia, OH to the late Ira and Eugenia Vest.  Larry was a United States Air Force veteran.  He worked various jobs for Cummins over the years.  Larry enjoyed reading and was a history buff.  He was also a jack of all trades.  Larry loved spending time with his family.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at Hazelwood Christian Church (9947 S. County Rd. 0, Clayton, IN 46118) starting at 11:00 a.m., family and friends are welcome as we come together to remember Larry, share stories and celebrate his life.  Survivors include his loving wife, Rachel Vest; son, Derek (Kristina) Vest; step children,  Erwin (Melinda) Layden, Virginia (Jon) Hurley, Brian (Megan) Layden and Caleb (Sarah) Allen;  sister, Sandra Duke; grandchildren, Brody and Jordan Vest; step grandchildren, Aurora Layden, Amelia Allen, Chloe Allen and Grace Graves; great grandchildren, Blakely Finch and Alani Owens.
