Laura Blackard

Laura Blackard, 64, of Plainfield, passed away on March 5, 2026.  She was born on November 13, 1961 in Danville, IN to the late Julian and Sarah Blackard.  Laura was a claims specialist for Anthem retiring after 24 years.  She loved her family and her grandchildren were her passion in life. Laura enjoyed playing online scrabble every day with her sister Mary.  She loved her doggies too.  Laura was preceded in death by a brother, David Blackard.  Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm.  Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.  Survivors include her daughter, Savannah Roach; brothers, Edward, Richard (Pam), Philip (Stacey) and Jerry Blackard; sisters, Julie Powell, Mary (Joe) Barras and Patricia Blackard; grandchildren, Rylee, Devin and Quinn.
