Loretta L. Utley

September 20, 1926 — April 14, 2020

Loretta L. Utley, 93, of Brownsburg, passed away April 14, 2020.  She was born September 20, 1926 to the late Leo and Helen (Zablocki) Timler in Green Valley, WI.  She was a 1944 graduate of Gladstone High School, and a graduate of St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Chicago.  After graduating from St. Luke’s School of Nursing, she moved to Sherman Oaks, California. She was in a special military unit for 18 months as a nurse when she met our father, Paul Utley.  Due to our fathers career our mother had many opportunities to travel and work in many states such as Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Illinois, Colorado, and Indiana. Our mother also did private duty nursing throughout her career.  Although our mother had achieved many things during her professional career, she viewed her family her greatest achievement. She devoted the last 36 years of her life caring for our brother Jim at home.  She unselfishly devoted her life caring for others.    Loretta is survived by four sons, Donald, Stephen (Jean Williams), James, and Paul Jr. (Carla) Utley; two daughters, Deborah Larkin and Yvette Bryant; 18 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Paul Utley Sr., and a daughter, Michelle Marshall.  Because of Covid-19, funeral services and calling will be private.  Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.  Arrangements by Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.
