Margaret L. Long

Margaret L. Long, 96, of Plainfield, passed from this life February 4, 2023.  She was born on November 19, 1926 in Indianapolis to the late Carl and Flossie Ristow.  Margaret was a secretary in the purchasing department for WABCO Company from 1944 until she retired in 1983.  She met Richard Long at work and they were married in 1962.  They were known for their kindness and generosity to friends and family.  They had a cottage on Graybrook Lake near Spencer, where many memories were shared with their family and friends.  Margaret enjoyed fishing, swimming, boating, bowling and puzzles.  She was a member of the Plainfield Church Of Christ.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Long; step daughter, Karen Dressel.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 1:00 pm.  Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Survivors include step daughter, Glenna Reed; grand daughter, Kim Todd; great grandson, Bryson Todd; several nieces and nephews.  The family wishes to thank the staff at Cumberland Trace for their care and friendship, especially Vicki who became a close friend to Margaret.
