Marjorie Shockley

Marjorie L. Shockley, 89, of Plainfield, IN, passed away at Worthington Place Senior Living, in Camby, IN on February 23, 2018.  She was born in Lawrenceburg, IN, to the late William and Mary (McClure) McDaniel on October 7, 1928.  Marjorie graduated from Ben Davis High School.  Shortly afterward she married George D. Gaddie, Jr. (deceased) on December 7, 1946.  Marjorie worked for Best Foods in Indianapolis for many years and loved her job.  On September 19, 1980, she married James E. Shockley (deceased).  She took great pride in her family and enjoyed making holiday dinners and traveling with friends and family.  Marjorie was a devoted mother and friend.  Her greatest joy was spending time with those she loved.  She was a member of the Plainfield Christian Church.  Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, James Shockley; sister, Elizabeth J. Norr; brother, William D. McDaniel Jr.  Surviving are her two devoted daughters, Jerilyn (Terry) Monroe, and Georgi Bruner; step daughter, Brenda (Tom) Lesperance; 3 grandchildren, Brandy (Sean) Noce, Vanessa (Andrew) Montgomery and Brandon Monroe; 6 great-grandchildren, Jack and Nico Noce, and Corynn, Alaina, Owen, and Callen Montgomery.  Funeral services will be Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may call from 11:00 am until time of service.  Entombment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Season's Hospice Foundation (6400 Shafer Ct. Suite 700 Rosemont, IL 60018).
