Martha M. "Marty" Elliott

Martha M. "Marty" Elliott, 81, of Danville, passed away November 3, 2021.  She was born November 11, 1939 to the late William and Corinne (Kersey) Maurer in Terre Haute, IN. She graduated from Wiley High School in Terre Haute.  After graduating from high school she attended Indiana State University.  She worked at Commercial Solvents until she married George Elliott in April of 1962.  She worked 27 years for United Technologies Carrier retiring as an executive secretary in 2000.   Martha was a loving and devoted wife to George for 54 years (he passed away January 25, 2017).  She was a member of the Brownsburg Church of Christ.   Martha enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, games, and going out to eat with her friends. She loved to travel and make memories and saving mementos to share with others.  She enjoyed entertaining in her home providing meals for family and friends.  She liked to schedule out to eat dinners with friends.   She was a committed Christian. She inspired many, and her soul was as beautiful as she was.  Martha is survived by three sons, Stephen (Maureen), Greg (Amy), and Tim (Amy Jo) Elliott; 11 grandchildren, Seth (Jessica) Elliott, Sarah (Aaron) Swick, Jacob Elliott, Sydney Elliott, McKenna Elliott, Daniel Elliott, Jonathan Elliott, Joseph Elliott, Thomas Elliott, Kaitlyn Elliott, and Emily Elliott; a great granddaughter, Braylee Swick; and a sister, Becky (Richard) Wible.  Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 8, 2021 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Monday from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm in the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
