Melvin E. Ridenour

Melvin E. Ridenour, age 78, of Plainfield, peacefully passed away surrounded by loving family members on March 13, 2026. He was born on May 3, 1947 to the late Omer B. Ridenour and Goldia (Wilson) Ridenour in Indianapolis, Indiana. Melvin honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He later worked as a machinist for several years while raising a family with his wife, Sandra (Dillow) Ridenour, who survives. Melvin enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching various sporting events, especially NASCAR or I.U. sports. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Clyde "Buck" Ridenour and Moe Ridenour. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Ridenour; son, Melvin "Mel" (Kim) Ridenour; daughter, Tina (Shane) Ridenour-McCloud; brother, Danny Ridenour; sister, Mary Crawford; 6 grandchildren, Derek (Jamie) Ridenour, Justin Ridenour, Meaghan (Ross) Ridenour, Haley Ridenour, Linsey (Isiah) McCloud and Spencer McCloud; 2 great grandchildren, Emersyn Ridenour and Kalysta Hart.
