Peggy L. Whitt

Peggy L. Whitt, 74, of Stilesville, passed away on January 29, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on March 19, 1944 in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Clifford and Lillie Mae Messer.  Peggy was a nurses aide for Putnam County Hospital for 3 years and then Plainfield Health Care for 15 years.  She had a passion for the ocean and traveling.  Peggy was an avid reader and loved watching her grandchildren's sporting events.  She had a real soft spot for her doggy named Elvis.  Peggy was preceded in death by her sons, Wayne and Matthew Whitt.  Funeral services will be Friday, February 1, 2019 at 6:30 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 3:30 pm until time of service.  Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years, James "Garland" Whitt; Daughters, Debbie Williams and Angela Whitt; brothers, Billy and Brian Messer; sisters, Louise Jones, Daisy Merrick, Erma Stone, Brenda Dowden and Tammy Messer; grandchildren, Kesha Roell, Zachary Williams, Jessica Williams, Chloe Whitt, Christopher Albertson, Caleb Whitt, Baily Jones, Bradley Jones and Dawson Whitt; 17 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
